Dartmouth Wins Six CASE Awards

Dartmouth took home six earlier this month from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, including four for in the areas of marketing, special events, fundraising, and leadership.

Advancement received a gold award in marketing for the Marketing and Engagement team’s , which combined 11 different web properties with more than 5,000 pages into a single central Advancement domain that has attracted more than 130,000 new users. 

The user-friendly unified site “has a clean design, features smart user experience, and makes strategic use of backend tagging,” the CASE judges wrote. “This is a scalable model for institutions facing digital sprawl.”

Alumni Relations Lifelong Learning won a bronze award for , which offered alumni diverse and inclusive perspectives on the 2024 presidential election cycle. The special event was produced in the studio by Mike Murray, director of media production, and senior producers Daniel Maxell Crosby ’02 and Shupriyo Maitra. 

Bronze awards also went to Leadership Giving and Recognition and Stewardship for to support the renovation of the Ӱkins Center for the Arts, and Advancement Marketing and Engagement for .

The other awards went to the , which received a silver award in photography for Director of Photography Katie Lenhart’s , a portrait of Jaime Aranzabal ’24, who cofounded Dartmouth’s student drag club. 

“Rooted in a clear and intentional vision, this photo reimagines the campus phrase ‘Into the Woods’ through an inclusive lens,” the judges wrote. “The bold contrast between the subject’s vibrant attire and the natural backdrop draws the viewer in—underscoring the power of visibility and self-expression.”

Communications also won a bronze award for storytelling for its coverage of a two-week research expedition by earth sciences professor to the Mackenzie Mountains in the Canadian Rockies, .

Photographer Robert Gill traveled with the team to the remote field site near the border of the Northwest Territories and Yukon, where they traversed rugged terrain to collect fossils that may prove to be the earliest record of animal life on Earth. Back in Hanover, Gill, a freelancer who previously worked for OOC, worked with Communications staff to tell the story—a collaboration that involved Assistant Director for Digital Engagement Micky Bedell, Social Media Producer LaDarius Dennison, News Director and Managing Editor John Gregg, Senior Media Relations Officer Morgan Kelly, Lenhart, Murray, and Director for Digital Engagement Erin Supinka.
